Privacy Policy

We believe your data belongs to you. Here's exactly what we collect — and what we don't.

The short version

  • Your snippets stay on your device by default. Everything is stored in chrome.storage.local unless you choose to turn on cloud sync.
  • We never read the pages you visit. Sniplo only interacts with a text field when you type a trigger shortcut.
  • We never sell your data and we never show you adverts.
  • Cloud sync is optional and opt-in. If you sign in, your snippets are sent to our servers so you can access them across browsers and devices.

1. Who we are

2. Data stored locally

The following data is stored locally on your device:

  • Snippets (triggers + expansion text)
  • Categories
  • Usage statistics (Insights tab — never sent to us unless sync is on)
  • Settings

3. Data we never collect

We never access or store:

  • Page content
  • Form fields
  • Browsing history
  • Keystrokes outside trigger sequences

4. How Sniplo detects triggers

Sniplo listens for keystrokes only within focused text inputs on web pages. When you type a character, Sniplo checks if the last N characters match any of your saved triggers. It reads only the minimum characters needed to match triggers and immediately discards them. Your keystrokes are never transmitted anywhere.

5. Cloud sync data (opt-in only)

If you choose to create an account and enable sync, we store the following on our servers (Supabase):

  • Your email address
  • Your snippets and categories
  • Your settings

We do not store usage statistics even when sync is enabled, unless you explicitly enable that option.

6. Security

HTTPS/TLS. Supabase RLS. Anon key is publishable. Session tokens sandboxed to extension.

7. Third parties

We use Supabase for optional cloud sync. No other third-party data processors receive your data.

8. Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the extension settings. Local data can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.

9. Cookies

The extension itself uses no cookies. Our website uses no tracking cookies.

10. Children

Sniplo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
